National S’mores Day

National S’mores Day on August 10th provides a delicious opportunity to try some new skills and earn a couple of different badges:

  • I Made it in a Mug
  • Teen Life Skills
  • Life Skills 4 Kids

Girl Guides have been making s’mores since the 1920s and it is still an activity enjoyed by Guides and Scouts in many countries with little change to the original recipe created by Guide Leader, Loretta Scott Crew.

Traditional s’mores consists of a toasted marshmallow with a piece of chocolate sandwiched between two biscuits.  However, a quick Google search also reveals many different s’more recipes that can be cooked in a variety of ways, including a microwave, air fryer, Thermomix, oven, stove top or outdoor fire.

Explore the options and see which method you prefer.
